Shanghai: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday witnessed the signing of three key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s agriculture, education, and environmental sectors.

The First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla accompanied the President at the ceremony.

The first MoU focused on establishing a Controlled Agriculture Science and Education Park to enhance food security and improve agricultural production efficiency. It was signed between Shanghai Huawei Agritech Group, Meskay & Femtee Trading Co., and Mr. Shahid Tawawalla on behalf of Pakistan.

The second MoU was a tripartite agreement for the construction of Shennong College, a vocational institute in Pakistan that will provide advanced training and integrated technology to farmers. The signatories included Longping High-Tech Information Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Beijing Jialong Technology Co., Ltd., and ASM Services represented by Mr. Shahid Tawawalla.

The third MoU pertained to a Tyre Recycling Project, promoting sustainable waste management and environmental protection. It was signed between Maritime Silk Road Holdings (Qingdao) Co., Ltd., represented by Mr. Cheng Long, and ASM Services represented by Mr. Shahid Tawawalla.

President Zardari said the agreements reflect a “practical step towards strengthened cooperation between Pakistan and China in agriculture, technology, and environmental management.”

The ceremony was also attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, and Sindh Ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
