Bollywood actor Salman Khan has spoken out against social media trolling aimed at actress Katrina Kaif following changes in her appearance after the birth of her son, urging people to recognise the physical changes women experience during and after pregnancy.
During an episode of Bigg Boss Season 20, Khan discussed the intense scrutiny actors face over their physical appearance. Without directly naming Kaif, he referred to criticism aimed at women who gain weight during pregnancy and questioned why they are subjected to online abuse after giving birth.
Khan said gaining weight during pregnancy is a normal part of the process and argued that actresses can return to their fitness routines when they are ready to resume their professional commitments. He also noted that some women may prefer to spend more time with their families after childbirth rather than immediately returning to work.

His comments came after Katrina Kaif appeared at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai alongside her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal. Images and videos from the event circulated widely on social media, prompting some users to comment on changes in her appearance compared with her earlier film appearances.
Kaif and Kaushal welcomed their son, Vihaan, in November 2025. The actress has largely kept her personal life private since becoming a mother and has not publicly responded to the criticism surrounding her recent photographs.
Khan’s remarks highlighted the wider scrutiny faced by female actors over their appearance, particularly after major life events such as pregnancy and childbirth. He questioned the expectation that actresses should immediately return to their previous physical appearance or professional schedules.
