Geely Pakistan is set for a major expansion after Bestway Group announced a strategic partnership with Geely Auto Group to distribute and assemble the Chinese automaker’s vehicles in the country.
The agreement appoints Bestway Automotive (Private) Limited, a subsidiary of Bestway Group, as the sole authorised distributor of Geely Auto Group products in Pakistan. The partnership marks a significant development for Pakistan’s automotive sector and aims to expand access to advanced electric and hybrid vehicles.
Initially, Bestway will introduce a range of Geely models as Completely Built Units (CBUs), allowing customers to access the company’s latest vehicles. The company will later begin local assembly at its existing automotive plant in Karachi, supporting long-term localisation, supply chain development, skills training, and employment opportunities.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony at Geely Auto Group’s headquarters in Hangzhou, China, formally launching the strategic collaboration between the two companies.
Geely Auto Group is one of China’s largest privately owned automotive manufacturers and has earned global recognition for its engineering, vehicle safety, intelligent technology, and electric mobility innovations. The company also operates one of the world’s largest automotive research and development networks.
Among the vehicles planned for the Pakistani market are the Geely EX5, an all-electric premium SUV, the Geely EX2, China’s best-selling passenger vehicle in 2025, and the Geely Starray EM-i, a plug-in hybrid SUV that holds the Guinness World Record for the lowest fuel consumption in its category.
Geely Group owns, controls, or holds strategic investments in several global automotive brands, including Volvo, Lotus, Aston Martin, Smart, Zeekr, Lynk & Co, Proton, Polestar, LEVC, Livan Automotive, Farizon Auto, Radar Auto (Riddara), Benelli, QJMotor, and Keeway.
Beyond vehicle manufacturing, Geely has expanded into smart mobility and aerospace technologies through its subsidiaries Geespace and Xingji Meizu. The company operates a commercial network of 64 low-Earth orbit satellites that support vehicle connectivity, high-precision positioning, and future autonomous driving technologies. Its Flyme Auto operating system also powers the digital ecosystem across its next-generation electric vehicles.
Bestway Group, a diversified multinational conglomerate with operations in the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and the Middle East, said the partnership reflects its long-term commitment to Pakistan’s industrial development. The group owns businesses across banking, cement, renewable energy, insurance, packaging, food processing, and consultancy services.
The companies said they will announce additional details on Geely’s product lineup, launch schedule, and dealership network expansion in the coming months.
