KARACHI, October 10: CRS Associates, in collaboration with CBC Karachi, organized a beach cleanup drive at Seaview, bringing together more than 100 students from various schools and universities to support environmental conservation.
The drive aimed to remove litter from the shoreline while collecting discarded seashells for a creative sustainability project titled “Art by the Sea.”
Students Join Effort to Protect Marine Life
The organizers said waste and litter along the coast pose a serious threat to marine life and damage the natural environment. The cleanup initiative sought to encourage responsible waste disposal, preserve the beach’s natural beauty and promote civic responsibility among young people.

Students from participating educational institutions actively took part in the activity, helping clean the shoreline and collect seashells for reuse.
Seashells to Become Artworks
Under the “Art by the Sea” initiative, organizers plan to distribute the collected seashells to children from special schools and orphanages. The children will decorate the shells using their creativity and artistic skills.

The activity aims to encourage self-expression, build confidence and introduce children to the importance of recycling and environmental protection.
Permanent Mural Planned for Seaview
Organizers plan to combine the decorated seashells to create a permanent mural at Seaview. The proposed artwork will represent community participation, creativity and sustainable practices.
By combining coastal cleanup with an inclusive art project, CRS Associates and CBC Karachi aim to raise environmental awareness while providing children with an opportunity to contribute to a public artwork.
The initiative highlights how community partnerships and creative reuse can support cleaner public spaces and encourage a stronger sense of environmental responsibility.
