Pakistan, Lebanon Expand Defence Cooperation at GHQ Meeting

Asim Munir Lebanon Defence Cooperation Talks Begin

Defence Cooperation was the central theme as Asim Munir met Lebanese Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief General Rodolphe Haykal at GHQ Rawalpindi.

The meeting focused on strengthening military ties between Pakistan and Lebanon. Moreover, both sides discussed evolving regional security challenges and future collaboration frameworks.

GHQ Rawalpindi Hosts Lebanon Military Visit

The talks took place at General Headquarters Rawalpindi, where General Haykal was presented with a guard of honour by a Tri-Services contingent.

According to ISPR, the visit highlighted growing institutional engagement between the two armed forces. In addition, both sides exchanged views on mutual interests and defence priorities.

Asim Munir Lebanon Defence Cooperation Focus

During the discussions, Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to long-standing relations with Lebanon.

He underscored the importance of expanding Defence Cooperation, particularly in training programs and professional military exchanges. Furthermore, he emphasized stronger institutional linkages between both armies.

Rodolphe Haykal Praises Pakistan Armed Forces

General Rodolphe Haykal appreciated the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces. He also acknowledged their role in regional stability and international peacekeeping missions.

According to ISPR, both sides agreed on enhancing military-to-military cooperation. Moreover, they expressed shared commitment to strengthening operational coordination.

Regional Security Shapes Defence Cooperation

Regional instability continues to influence Defence Cooperation discussions between the two countries. Security developments across the Middle East were reviewed during the meeting.

Both sides highlighted the need for continued dialogue amid evolving geopolitical tensions. Consequently, military engagement was seen as essential for stability and coordination.

Lebanon Conflict and Wider Security Context

The meeting took place amid ongoing tensions in Lebanon involving Israel and Hezbollah. Although ceasefire efforts exist, sporadic escalations continue to raise concerns.

Lebanon remains central to regional security dynamics due to its strategic location and internal conflict pressures. Therefore, defence dialogue remains a priority for partner nations.

Pakistan Lebanon Defence Cooperation Outlook

Officials concluded that Defence Cooperation between Pakistan and Lebanon will likely expand through training and institutional collaboration.

The visit reflected a shared commitment to strengthening military relations. Moreover, both countries aim to deepen professional exchanges in the coming period.

As regional uncertainties persist, continued engagement is expected to play a key role in maintaining communication channels and defence coordination.
