Ukraine Drones killed eight people and injured 86 others after Russia said Ukraine launched one of its largest overnight drone attacks since the war began. Russian air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 379 drones across several regions, according to the Defence Ministry.

The ministry said air defence units shot down drones over Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Smolensk, Ryazan, Kaluga, Tula, Tambov, Oryol, Lipetsk, Tver, Pskov, Voronezh, Rostov, Volgograd, Leningrad, Vladimir, the Moscow region, Krasnodar, occupied Crimea, the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said nearly 370 drones headed toward the Moscow region overnight. He said Russian air defence units intercepted them before they reached their targets.

In the Tambov region, a drone strike hit a Wildberries logistics centre. The attack killed seven people and injured 25 others. Acting Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said doctors admitted 22 injured people to hospital, including eight in critical condition.

Authorities identified the victims as four men and three women. The injured included 16 men and nine women. Firefighters later extinguished the blaze at the warehouse.

Drone strikes also hit the Moscow region cities of Noginsk and Elektrostal. Governor Andrei Vorobyov said a drone ignited a fire at an oil storage facility in Noginsk. Officials evacuated 22 women and seven newborns from a nearby maternity hospital as a safety measure.

Another drone struck a Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal and started a fire. Emergency crews later brought the blaze under control.

Officials later confirmed that one injured victim died in hospital. As a result, the Moscow region death toll rose to one. The number of injured also increased to 61, including nine people in critical condition.

Russia’s Investigative Committee opened terrorism cases over the attacks on the logistics centres in the Tambov and Moscow regions.

Rodion Miroshnik, Russia’s ambassador-at-large for alleged Ukrainian war crimes, claimed Ukraine deliberately targeted the Wildberries warehouse in Tambov.

Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova condemned the strikes as acts of terrorism. She said authorities had submitted appeals to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and other relevant United Nations bodies.

Meanwhile, air defence units intercepted around 30 drones over the Rostov region. They also destroyed additional drones over Voronezh, Tula, Leningrad and several other regions.

In the Kursk region, a drone damaged an energy facility and cut electricity to more than 46,000 consumers. Another drone hit a residential building in the Vladimir region and sparked a fire, although no one suffered injuries.

The Russian Defence Ministry said emergency teams continue response operations across the affected regions. Authorities are also assessing the damage and restoring essential services.
