Riyadh Airport Resumes Limited Operations
In a separate development, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has resumed limited air traffic under strict security conditions following a temporary closure on October 10 after recent Houthi attacks.
According to a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by Saudi Arabia’s Civil Aviation Authority, flights arriving at or departing from the airport must obtain prior approval from the authority.
The notice also prohibits aircraft from using Riyadh airport as an alternate destination during emergencies, citing security considerations.
The restrictions indicate that airport operations remain subject to additional security controls as regional tensions continue.
