Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met Malaysia’s newly appointed Consul General Muhammad Younis Ibrahim at the Chief Minister’s House in Karachi on Wednesday, with both sides discussing bilateral relations and ways to expand cooperation.
Syed Murad Ali Shah congratulated Muhammad Younis Ibrahim on his appointment and welcomed him to Sindh. The chief minister assured the Malaysian diplomat of full cooperation from the Sindh government.
The meeting focused on Pakistan-Malaysia relations, matters of mutual interest and opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic and trade sectors.
The two sides agreed to further enhance economic and commercial ties between Sindh and Malaysia. The chief minister also invited Malaysian investors to explore investment opportunities in Sindh’s emerging market.
Muhammad Younis Ibrahim appreciated the Sindh government’s initiatives to promote investment, particularly its public-private partnership projects. He said such initiatives could help create further opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.

The meeting also highlighted the potential for greater collaboration in tourism and culture, with both sides expressing a commitment to expanding exchanges in these areas.
The Malaysian consul general said a decision had been taken to begin direct flight operations between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur.
He said direct flights would facilitate business travel, improve connectivity and contribute to the expansion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Malaysia.
Muhammad Younis Ibrahim thanked the Sindh chief minister for the warm welcome and assurance of cooperation.
The meeting was attended as part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic, economic and people-to-people ties between Sindh and Malaysia.
