SH Packages Clinch Tape Ball Premier League Season 2 Title

Karachi: SH Packages secured the championship title in the final of the Tape Ball Premier League Season Two by defeating CE Sports with five wickets to spare.

Batting first, CE Sports posted a competitive total of 155 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted eight overs. Muhammad Usama starred with the bat, smashing 70 runs off just 24 balls in a power-packed performance.

In response, SH Packages chased down the target in just 7.5 overs. Captain Asad Shah led from the front with a scintillating knock of 52 off 13 balls. Fahad Mian Channu added 49 runs, while Taimur Mirza contributed a solid 33.

Chief Organizer Khurram Majeed and special guest, President of Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana, Syed Muhammad Talha, distributed the prizes during the closing ceremony. The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh along with the tournament trophy, while the runner-up team was awarded Rs 20 lakh.

The thrilling final attracted a large crowd of spectators, including former Pakistan cricket captains Inzamam-ul-Haq and Sarfaraz Ahmed, who praised the tournament and encouraged the players.

Inzamam and Sarfaraz laud the event

Inzamam-ul-Haq appreciated the grandeur of the Tape Ball Premier League, noting that even hard ball club tournaments in his era didn’t offer such substantial prize money. “The popularity of tape ball players and the large turnout of fans is a great sign for the sport,” he said.

Sarfaraz Ahmed echoed similar sentiments, recalling his early days playing tape ball cricket. “This initiative is commendable. Hosting events of this scale with big prizes is a positive step,” he said, adding that he hopes such tournaments will continue to grow.
