Karachi: In a remarkable display of support and solidarity, the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) hosted a grand dinner in honor of Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), President of ECO-CCI, and Vice President of CACCI.

The event drew a large number of prominent business leaders from Sindh, especially from Sukkur, including current and former office bearers of SCCI.

Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh expressed deep gratitude to the business community, stating that his role in national macroeconomic policymaking is a direct result of the support and feedback received from trade and industry stakeholders across Pakistan.

Mr. Abdul Mohamin Khan, Vice President FPCCI and Regional Chairman for Sindh, highlighted Mr. Sheikh’s unifying and solution-oriented leadership. He credited him with effectively addressing key issues such as taxation anomalies, trade and shipping challenges, investment barriers, SME difficulties, industrial policy formulation, and improving access to finance.

SCCI President Muhammad Khalid Kakizai praised the FPCCI leadership for enabling SCCI to play a dynamic role in Sukkur’s socioeconomic development. He emphasized that FPCCI regularly considers their inputs for economic and trade policymaking at the federal level.

SCCI Senior Vice President Mr. Ameet Kumar noted that FPCCI and SCCI closely collaborate on pre- and post-budget policy advocacy for Sindh’s economic interests. Meanwhile, SCCI Vice President Mr. Malik Muhammad Owais Rais credited Mr. Abdul Mohamin Khan for being a strong and inclusive voice for Sukkur within FPCCI.

Speakers also paid tribute to Mr. S. M. Tanveer, Patron-in-Chief of the United Business Group (UBG), for his visionary, inclusive, and research-based approach in aligning Pakistan’s business advocacy with international best practices.
