Hasan Ali, the fast bowler for Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.
Hasan Ali admitted the offense and accepted the sanction. He was found to have violated Article 2.5, which relates to using language, actions, or gestures that disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter after dismissal.
The incident occurred on the final ball of the 19th over of Lahore Qalandars’ innings when Karachi Kings’ Hasan Ali dismissed Haseebullah Khan.
Despite the disciplinary issue, Karachi Kings delivered a composed all-round performance to secure a four-wicket win over defending champions Lahore Qalandars in the sixth match of Pakistan Super League 11 at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 129 on a challenging surface, Karachi reached the total with six wickets down and three balls remaining.
The chase began poorly, with captain David Warner and Salman Ali Agha dismissed early in the third over by Shaheen Shah Afridi, leaving the team at 10 runs.
The match took a dramatic turn when umpires penalized Lahore Qalandars for ball tampering, awarding Karachi five runs and reducing the target to nine.
In the final over, Haris Rauf dismissed Khushdil on the first ball. However, Abbas Afridi responded immediately, hitting a boundary and a six off his first two deliveries to seal the win for Karachi.
Earlier, Lahore’s decision to bat first resulted in a total of 128-9. Abdullah Shafique, Haseebullah, and Sikandar Raza made contributions, but none converted them into significant scores.
Karachi’s bowlers, including Adam Zampa, Mir Hamza, and Moeen Ali, shared the wickets effectively to restrict Lahore to a manageable total.
