PSX Announces Top 25 Companies Awards for 2023

Awards celebrate excellence in Pakistan’s corporate

and industrial sectors, recognizing outstanding

financial performance and governance

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has unveiled the winners of the prestigious Top 25 Companies Awards 2023. Established in 1978, these awards celebrate excellence in Pakistan’s corporate and industrial sectors, recognizing outstanding financial performance, governance, and sustainability practices.

Selection Criteria

To qualify, companies must meet key prerequisites, including:

  • Minimum dividend distribution of 30%.
  • Active trading of shares on at least 75% of trading days in a year.

Eligible companies are then evaluated using quantitative and qualitative criteria.

  • Quantitative factors: Profitability ratios, dividend metrics, and trading turnover.
  • Qualitative aspects: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), adherence to Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, and Diversity & Inclusion (D&I).

Statement from PSX Acting CEO

Mr. Nadeem Naqvi, Acting CEO of PSX, congratulated the winners, stating:

“These awards highlight the exceptional performance of Pakistan’s top corporate players. The recognition sends a strong signal to local and global investors about the competence of these companies in aligning with international standards of corporate excellence.”

He added that these accolades reflect the winners’ ability to excel in collaborations with both local and international business partners.
