SALERNO, ITALY — In a powerful movement of cultural diplomacy and integration, Human Trust International hosted a grand cultural gala in Salerno, celebrating Pakistani heritage, Sufi music, and the enduring Pak-Italy friendship.
The high-profile event drew a diverse audience, including senior Italian police officials, prominent business figures, community leaders, families, and local Italian citizens.
The evening commenced with the ceremonial playing of the national anthems of both Pakistan and Italy. The spotlight then shifted to world-renowned Pakistani classical and Sufi vocalist Ustad Rafaqat Ali Khan, whose captivating performance left the audience spellbound. Through his soulful renditions, Khan showcased the richness of South Asian musical traditions, delivering a message of peace, love, and spiritual harmony.
Beyond the music, the gala served a vital strategic purpose: strengthening bilateral cultural ties, accelerating social integration for diaspora communities, and fostering mutual respect between Pak-Italian citizens.
A key highlight of the night was the empowerment of overseas Pakistani women. Emphasizing the need for active female leadership in social and cultural spheres, Dr. Hina Urooj, President of the Women League, marked the celebration alongside community members with a ceremonial cake cutting.
Organization President Waqas Nadeem reiterated Human Trust International’s commitment to building bridges through arts, social inclusion, and active community engagement in Europe.
