Pakistan-Malaysia Ties were the focus of a meeting between Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi and newly appointed Malaysian Consul General Muhammad Yunus Ibrahim at the Governor House on Saturday.
The two sides discussed ways to increase bilateral trade and further strengthen people-to-people and business links between Pakistan and Malaysia.
Governor Hashmi said the exchange of delegations between the two countries would be encouraged to promote closer cooperation in trade, investment and other sectors.
He also invited Malaysian tourists to visit Pakistan, saying the country offered a range of attractive destinations, including Kashmir and the northern areas.
Cultural and business cooperation
The governor said film festivals organised in both countries could provide an effective platform for people to better understand each other’s cultures and social values.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s surgical instruments industry, saying Pakistani products were in demand internationally and that cooperation with Malaysia in this sector could be further expanded.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Consul General Muhammad Yunus Ibrahim said Malaysian Airlines was expected to launch flights to Karachi soon.
He said economic diplomacy remained among Malaysia’s key priorities and that efforts would be made to further strengthen bilateral trade between the two countries.
Focus on investment opportunities
The Malaysian envoy said Malaysia was also interested in exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in technology, electric vehicles and solar energy.
He identified these sectors as key priorities and expressed his commitment to promoting greater economic cooperation and investment.
The consul general also highlighted opportunities to increase bilateral trade in the vegetable oil sector.
The meeting reflected efforts by Pakistan and Malaysia to expand their economic relationship while strengthening tourism, cultural exchanges, investment and people-to-people connections.
