Pakistan vs England ODI to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the Pakistan-England One Day International on October 25 will be dedicated to breast cancer awareness as part of the ODI tri-series involving Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka.

The fourth ODI of the series will be observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Day under the PCB’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. The campaign aims to highlight the importance of early detection, regular screening and timely treatment while encouraging greater public awareness across Pakistan.

Gaddafi Stadium to Turn Pink

Special activities under the Pink Ribbon Campaign will begin two hours before the match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The Pakistan men’s cricket team will wear specially designed pink kits to show solidarity with breast cancer patients and survivors. England’s players, match officials and commentators will also be invited to wear pink ribbons in support of the campaign.

The stumps used during the fixture will feature pink branding, while awareness messages and campaign visuals will appear on the stadium’s big screen and LED perimeter boards throughout the match.

Commentators will also share breast cancer awareness messages during the live broadcast, extending the campaign’s reach to viewers across Pakistan and beyond.

PCB Supports Pinktober Campaign

The initiative forms part of Pinktober, observed internationally during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Through the match-day activities, the PCB aims to use cricket’s wide audience to encourage people to learn about breast cancer, recognise the importance of screening and seek medical advice when needed.

The campaign will combine on-ground activities with broadcast messaging to promote awareness among spectators and television audiences.

By dedicating the Pakistan-England ODI to the cause, the PCB is using a major sporting event to support public education and encourage timely attention to breast health.
