Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid tribute to the victims of the Karsaz tragedy, describing October 18 as a black day in Pakistan’s history.
Bilawal said a terrorist attack targeted Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in a cowardly attempt to undermine her return to Pakistan. He said party workers who had gathered to welcome their leader sacrificed their lives while protecting her, demonstrating their commitment to democracy and the people’s right to rule.
The PPP chairman said the victims’ sacrifices showed that terrorism, extremism and violence could not weaken the nation’s resolve to uphold democratic values. He described their sacrifices as a significant chapter in Pakistan’s history that would always be remembered.
