HBO has unveiled a new teaser trailer and promotional images for its upcoming Harry Potter television series, offering another look at the new cast entering the Wizarding World.
The first season will adapt Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, introducing viewers to Harry Potter as he discovers his magical abilities and begins his journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The series is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max during the Christmas season in December 2026.
A New Harry Potter Cast
Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry Potter, with Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
The main cast also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

Warwick Davis will return to the Wizarding World as Professor Filius Flitwick. Johnny Flynn will portray Lucius Malfoy, while Bel Powley will play Petunia Dursley.
Katherine Parkinson will portray Molly Weasley, with Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.
Harry’s Journey Begins Again
The story follows Harry, an orphan who discovers that he is a wizard after receiving an invitation to Hogwarts.
At the school, he develops a close friendship with Hermione and Ron while learning about magic and uncovering secrets linked to the most feared wizard in the magical world.
The first season will focus on Harry’s arrival at Hogwarts and his earliest adventures as he begins to understand his past and his place in the Wizarding World.
A New Television Interpretation
The HBO series marks the first major television adaptation of Rowling’s Harry Potter novels and follows the global success of the original film franchise.
Unlike the films, the television format is expected to give each book more space for its characters, storylines and magical world.
HBO has positioned the series as a new interpretation of the beloved story, with an entirely new generation of actors taking on the central roles.
