Free Medical Camp Held in Keti Bandar by PMSA and Sindh Health Department

Special Correspondent

Keti Bandar: In a major public welfare initiative, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), in collaboration with the Health and Population Welfare Department, Government of Sindh, organized a one-day Joint Health and Awareness Camp in Keti Bandar to provide essential healthcare services to the underserved coastal community.

More than 700 residents—including men, women, and children from the local fishing population—benefited from free medical check-ups, medicines, and awareness sessions. The camp offered specialized consultations in General Medicine, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Reproductive Health, and Skin Diseases, with a special focus on maternal and child care.

The initiative received strong support from renowned non-governmental organizations, including Save the Children Foundation (SCF), Hands Pakistan, Mamta Foundation, and Rescue 1122.

In addition to medical services, interactive awareness sessions were held to educate the community on maritime safety protocols, the use of life-saving equipment such as life jackets and first aid kits, and maintaining hygiene in marine and fishing environments. These sessions were designed to encourage active participation, particularly among seafaring workers.

The event witnessed active involvement from officials and representatives of all partner organizations, reflecting a unified and coordinated approach toward the health and safety of coastal populations.

PMSA, along with the Government of Sindh and supporting partners, reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of coastal communities and emphasized the importance of continuous health support and awareness programs in remote maritime regions.
