Sindh Ministers to Inaugurate GCT Modern Education Complex in Mehrabpur

Staff Reporter

Karachi: Sindh Home and Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani will jointly inaugurate a state-of-the-art Education Complex built by the Green Crescent Trust (GCT) in Mehrabpur on August 9.

The newly established complex aims to initially provide quality education to 600 children from disadvantaged communities, furthering GCT’s mission to promote education in underserved areas of Sindh.

For over three decades, the Green Crescent Trust has led charitable education initiatives across the province. Currently, GCT runs 173 schools in remote and underprivileged areas of Sindh, with more than 34,660 students enrolled—over 40% of whom are girls. In Mehrabpur alone, the Trust operates 11 schools serving more than 2,200 students.

GCT CEO Zahid Saeed expressed gratitude to the Trust’s donors, the Sindh government, and the Sindh Education Foundation for supporting efforts to bring out-of-school children into the education system.

“We are especially thankful to Ministers Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and Saeed Ghani for taking time from their busy schedules to inaugurate the new complex, reflecting their strong commitment to the cause of education,” Zahid Saeed said.

He also acknowledged the valuable contributions of Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah towards reforming school education across the province.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by provincial government officials, development partners, philanthropists, and community stakeholders.
