Quetta: In a significant healthcare initiative aimed at enhancing patient mobility and dignity, the Dawood Global Foundation (DGF) has donated 154 wheelchairs to three of Quetta’s largest public hospitals—Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Bolan Medical Complex, and the Trauma Centre & Emergency Department.

Of the total, 150 wheelchairs were generously funded by a local bank, while 4 wheelchairs were contributed by individual supporters. This collective effort highlights a growing commitment to addressing the mobility crisis in Balochistan’s healthcare system.

DGF CEO Tara Uzra Dawood and foundation representative Mahnaz Dada travelled from Karachi to personally oversee the distribution ceremonies. The wheelchairs will be made available 24/7 across emergency rooms, surgical wards, and recovery units, offering immediate relief to hospitals that serve hundreds of patients daily.

Hospital Impact:

  • Sandeman Provincial Hospital – Over 500 patients treated daily
  • Bolan Medical Complex – More than 500 outpatient visits each day
  • Trauma Centre & Emergency Department – Handling 100+ emergency cases daily

“The quality of care in Quetta is impressive, and we are humbled to support these hospitals with urgently needed wheelchairs,” said Tara Uzra Dawood, CEO, Dawood Global Foundation.

Hospital administrators including Dr. Hadi Kakar and Dr. Sultan Ahmed Lehri expressed their gratitude, emphasizing the positive impact the donations have had on patient care. Each facility formally acknowledged the donation with letters of appreciation, citing improved patient experience and mobility.
