Pakistani delegation attends interfaith summit in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Pakistani delegation of Muslim and Christian faith leaders, along with human rights advocates, participated in the 2nd Annual National Coalition Against Hate Conference at the National Press Club, joining representatives from more than 70 religious and civic organizations committed to fostering peace and mutual understanding.
The conference, hosted by the American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council, brought together faith leaders, policymakers, and civil society representatives to discuss ways to strengthen interfaith cooperation, protect religious freedom, and address the growing challenges of hate and intolerance around the world.
During the event, the Pakistani delegation shared the country’s efforts to promote interfaith harmony and safeguard the rights of religious minorities. Speakers highlighted initiatives focused on community dialogue, peacebuilding, and countering religious extremism, while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who advocated equal rights and citizenship for people of all faiths.
The conference also featured remarks from U.S. Representatives Greg Stanton and Brad Schneider, alongside presentations by Anila Ali, bestselling author Dara Horn, representatives of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), and Dr. Charles Asher. Discussions explored practical approaches to combating religious hatred, addressing online extremism, protecting freedom of religion or belief, and recognizing the vital role women play in building peaceful and inclusive communities.
The gathering concluded with participants reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting dialogue, defending religious freedom, and building stronger partnerships across faiths to reject hatred and uphold the dignity and equal rights of all people.
Pakistan’s participation underscored its continued engagement in international efforts to encourage interfaith understanding and peaceful coexistence, while showcasing its ongoing work to strengthen harmony among diverse religious communities at home and abroad.
