ISLAMABAD: Child Safety has become the focus of a new partnership between the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Google LLC, which have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen online safety, digital literacy and responsible internet use among children across Pakistan.
Under the agreement, PTA and Google will jointly implement a Child Safety Programme focused on awareness, education and capacity-building for children, parents, teachers and caregivers.
The programme will equip parents and teachers with practical tools, guidance and resources to help children use digital platforms safely and responsibly.
Nationwide awareness campaign planned
As part of the initiative, PTA and Google will develop online safety content in English, Urdu and local languages. The partners will also conduct training programmes in educational institutions to improve digital safety awareness among students and educators.
A nationwide awareness campaign will further connect millions of families with localised online safety resources, guidance and tutorials.
The initiative aims to create a safer digital environment for children while encouraging responsible and informed use of online platforms.
