Bone Cancer Awareness took centre stage as the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) organised an awareness session on “Lumps & Bumps” at its Head Office in Karachi, highlighting the importance of early detection of sarcoma.
The event was organised through FPCCI’s Central Standing Committee on Laboratories and Diagnostic Centers and brought together healthcare professionals, business leaders and industry representatives to promote greater awareness of musculoskeletal cancers.
Orthopedic consultant Dr Khalil Khatri, who specialises in musculoskeletal tumours, delivered the keynote address. He emphasised that recognising the early signs of sarcoma and seeking timely medical evaluation can significantly improve treatment outcomes and increase survival rates.
The session was convened by Prof Dr Farhan Essa Abdullah, who said the initiative reflects FPCCI’s commitment to supporting public health awareness while encouraging stronger collaboration between the healthcare sector and the business community.
Participants discussed the importance of early diagnosis, public education and timely access to specialised medical care in reducing the impact of bone and soft tissue cancers.
FPCCI said it will continue organising awareness programmes that promote preventive healthcare and strengthen partnerships between medical professionals and industry stakeholders.
