President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh, Haleem Adil Sheikh, released an important video message regarding the political situation and upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He alleged that attempts were underway to manipulate the election process in Gilgit-Baltistan, similar to the February 8, 2024 general elections.
Concerns over restrictions and political activities
Haleem Adil Sheikh criticised alleged restrictions on PTI, including issues related to party registration, election symbols and political activities.
He termed these actions unacceptable and accused authorities of creating hurdles for the party.
Junaid Akbar Khan convoy issue condemned
The PTI leader also condemned the stopping of the convoy of Junaid Akbar Khan in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He called the move unconstitutional and criticised the reported requirement of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for travel to the region.
Questions raised over NOC requirement
Haleem Adil Sheikh questioned why Pakistani citizens were allegedly being asked to obtain permission to travel within Pakistan.
He said such actions could create resentment among the public and send a dangerous message regarding national unity.
PTI vows political struggle
The PTI Sindh president claimed that political workers in Gilgit-Baltistan faced harassment while other political parties enjoyed freedom.
He demanded authorities immediately allow Junaid Akbar Khan’s convoy to continue its journey.
Haleem Adil Sheikh said every Pakistani had the constitutional right to travel freely across the country.
He also expressed confidence that PTI would achieve success in Gilgit-Baltistan despite political challenges.
