Karachi: The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi showcased Thailand’s culture, cuisine and tourism at the three-day My Karachi – Oasis of Harmony Exhibition held from February 6 to 8, drawing strong public interest through interactive displays, food tastings and promotional activities.

The Consulate set up three dedicated booths to promote Thai food products, consumer goods and travel opportunities, offering visitors a glimpse into Thailand’s culinary and cultural heritage.

A range of imported Thai products, brought in by Pakistani companies including Polac, Suree, Razmin, Sohni Traders and YC Cosmetics, were displayed at the pavilion. The products focused primarily on food items and fast-moving consumer goods, aimed at expanding trade links and increasing the availability of Thai brands in the local market.

Visitors were also offered complimentary tastings of traditional Thai snacks, including coconut jelly, papaya salad, crispy coconut wafers and sweet-and-sour noodles. The items attracted large crowds and received positive feedback for their distinctive flavours.

Speaking at the event, the Consul General of Thailand said the Consulate’s participation aimed to support the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) while promoting Thailand as both a trade partner and a preferred travel destination for Pakistanis.

“Our objective is to display and promote Thai food, Thai products and Thailand as a premier destination. Visitors can experience Thailand through our cuisine and culture,” the Consul General said.

To enhance visitor engagement, the Consulate organised lucky draws during the exhibition, distributing souvenirs sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International. A life-sized replica of a traditional Thai tuk-tuk served as a photo attraction, particularly popular among families and young visitors.

Officials said the exhibition provided an opportunity for direct interaction with the public, helping promote cultural exchange and tourism awareness. Many attendees sought information about travel, education and business opportunities in Thailand.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General expressed appreciation to the Pak-Thai Friendship Association and Business Forum, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Airways International, and KCCI for their support.

The participation, officials said, reflects Thailand’s continued efforts to deepen people-to-people contact, trade cooperation and cultural understanding between the two countries.
