17th Aalmi Urdu Conference Opens in Karachi, Celebrating Urdu and Cultural Heritage

The Aalmi Urdu Conference stands as a testament

to Pakistan’s rich cultural legacy, uniting voices

to honor the power of language, art, and unity

Karachi: The 17th Aalmi Urdu Conference began with great enthusiasm at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi. This event celebrated the linguistic and cultural heritage of Urdu and other regional languages. It attracted literary figures, diplomats, artists, and culture enthusiasts from around the world.

Chief Minister Highlights Karachi’s Cultural Significance

The Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh addressed the attendees and emphasized the importance of the event. He described it as a celebration of Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity. Moreover, he praised the Arts Council of Pakistan for its 70-year journey, which has established it as a center for creativity and dialogue.

Recognition of Visionary Leadership

Additionally, the Chief Minister commended Arts Council President Mohammad Ahmed Shah’s leadership. He highlighted initiatives that have made Karachi a global cultural city. “Hosting the 38-day World Culture Festival with artists from 44 countries and expanding the Aalmi Urdu Conference have reinforced Karachi’s status as a city of art and intellect,” he stated.

Honoring Regional Literary Figures

The conference also honored regional literary figures with Lifetime Achievement Awards. Authors from Sindhi, Saraiki, Punjabi, Pashto, and Balochi were celebrated. This act underscored the Council’s commitment to promoting linguistic diversity and fostering unity among communities.

Future Plans for Cultural Growth

The Chief Minister shared his optimism for future plans. He mentioned the Council’s expanded global outreach and the larger festival planned for next year, which will include participation from nearly every country. Consequently, he assured that the Sindh Government fully supports the Council’s vision of cultural diplomacy, youth engagement, and intellectual growth.

Empowering Karachi’s Youth Through Art

In conclusion, the Chief Minister praised Karachi’s cultural and intellectual contributions. He called for continued efforts to empower the city’s youth through art and culture, aiming for a brighter and more inclusive future.
