Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected governing body of the Arts Council of Pakistan, reaffirmed the Sindh government’s unwavering support for the council’s cultural and artistic initiatives. He highlighted the Arts Council’s significant role in promoting tolerance, peace, and cultural diplomacy.
The ceremony, held on Monday, was attended by Minister of Culture Zulfiqar Shah and other dignitaries.

Murad Ali Shah lauded council president Muhammad Ahmad Shah and his team for their relentless efforts in advancing art and culture, noting the council’s international acclaim. He emphasized the longstanding partnership between the Sindh government and the Arts Council, rooted in their mutual commitment to democracy and public service.
The CM credited the council with fostering a cultural revival by hosting festivals, workshops, and seminars that empower youth and encourage positivity.
Notable Contributions and Achievements
Murad Shah acknowledged the Arts Council’s significant achievements, including the successful organization of 17 International Urdu Conferences. He commended their work in reviving traditional art forms like Qawwali and theatre while supporting local artists.
The council’s World Culture Festival, which featured participants from 44 countries, was highlighted as a milestone event showcasing Pakistan’s cultural richness on the global stage.
Future Plans for Global Engagement
The CM expressed excitement about the upcoming edition of the World Culture Festival, expected to host participants from over 100 countries. Additionally, he praised the council’s plans to organize a Global Summit focusing on critical topics such as climate change, governance, economic challenges, artificial intelligence, and digitalization.
He described these initiatives as groundbreaking efforts to enhance Pakistan’s international image and foster new opportunities for global relations and foreign policy.
