Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has expressed disappointment over the outcome of negotiations with the government, stressing that political differences must not undermine Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism.
Speaking to the media at Dahgal Checkpoint on Adiala Road in Rawalpindi, Gohar said PTI opposed all forms of terrorism and remained committed to implementing the National Action Plan (NAP).
He said the party had participated in negotiations with the government without preconditions and questioned why the dialogue had begun if the government lacked the authority to resolve the issues under discussion.
Gohar maintained that the negotiations should have continued instead of being abandoned.
PTI Outlines Key Demands
The PTI chairman said the party’s key demands included access to its founder, provision of medical treatment for him and permission for him to speak to his children by telephone.

He added that the government had expressed an interest in discussing terrorism and provincial issues with him, but argued that the dialogue process should not have been discontinued.
Gohar also rejected claims that PTI’s negotiating committee was receiving instructions from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, describing the impression as false.
Comments on Opposition Leader and Mashal Yousafzai
Commenting on Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Gohar said PTI had never questioned his position as opposition leader.
Regarding Mashal Yousafzai, he said she had crossed the line and that a notice would be issued to her. He described her statements as baseless and denied that there was any truth in them.
Gohar reiterated that PTI supported the implementation of the National Action Plan and urged political stakeholders to keep their differences from affecting efforts to combat terrorism.
He stressed that the fight against terrorism required continued attention regardless of political disagreements.
