President Zardari Confers Top National Honors on Civil and Military Leaders at Aiwan-e-Sadr

Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Jurat to military chiefs

Islamabad: A grand ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr where President Asif Ali Zardari conferred prestigious national honors on distinguished civil and military personalities in recognition of their exceptional services and achievements. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was also present at the event.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was awarded the Hilal-e-Jurat for his exemplary leadership of the Pakistan Army under extremely challenging circumstances. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad, received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar was also honored with the Hilal-e-Jurat.

Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime boundaries during the war against India.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was honored with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for highlighting Pakistan’s stance on global platforms and exposing India’s malicious conspiracies.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was recognized for his strong diplomatic advocacy of Pakistan’s stance, while Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar was honored for defending Pakistan’s position on the Indus Waters Treaty.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for his firm response to India’s unprovoked aggression, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar was honored with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for effective information dissemination during the “Battle of Truth” (Ma’rakah-e-Haq).

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for maintaining national unity and internal peace. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for his role in fostering national consensus and political harmony.

Several other civil and military figures were also conferred with top national awards during the prestigious Independence Day event.
