Government Formation Talks Begin in GB

The government formation process in Gilgit-Baltistan has officially moved into a new phase as major political parties entered negotiations. The Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz held detailed consultations on possible political arrangements.

The government formation discussions follow recent elections in which both parties secured key seats. The talks reportedly aim to determine the next governing structure in the region.

PPP Leads Government Formation Process

The government formation momentum currently favors the Pakistan Peoples Party. Pakistan Peoples Party secured 11 out of 24 seats in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly, according to unofficial results.

The party claimed it had emerged as the largest group. Furthermore, PPP leaders said they were confident about forming the next government.

PML-N Role in Government Formation Talks

The government formation discussions also included Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, which won six seats in the election. Both sides reportedly exchanged proposals for political cooperation.

PML-N officials stated that several options were considered. Additionally, they emphasized that final decisions would be made after consultation with central leadership.

PPP Claims Breakthrough in GB Talks

The government formation process saw what PPP described as a “major breakthrough” during negotiations. Party leaders said progress was made on key political proposals.

Qamar Zaman Kaira and other senior figures participated in the discussions. Moreover, PPP representatives stressed democratic consultation as the guiding principle.

Amir Muqam Leads PML-N Delegation

The government formation talks included senior participation from both sides. Amir Muqam represented the PML-N delegation in Gilgit.

He was joined by other party leaders who reviewed possible political pathways. Consequently, the dialogue was described as constructive by both parties.

Sharjeel Memon PPP Consultation Role

The government formation meeting also included Sharjeel Inam Memon as part of the PPP delegation. Leaders discussed regional political stability and coalition options.

In addition, party officials emphasized public mandate and electoral strength. Therefore, discussions focused on sustainable governance arrangements.

Gilgit-Baltistan Election Results Overview

The government formation process is shaped by the election results in Gilgit-Baltistan. PPP leads with 11 seats, followed by PML-N with six.

Other parties and independents also secured representation. However, final consolidation remains pending due to re-polling in selected constituencies.

Government Formation Conclusion

The government formation process in Gilgit-Baltistan remains ongoing as parties continue consultations. Both PPP and PML-N have agreed to keep discussions active.

Ultimately, the final decision will depend on party leadership approvals. Meanwhile, negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days.
