According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of high-speed diesel has decreased by Rs0.66 per litre. As a result, the new retail price stands at Rs392.38 per litre.
Meanwhile, the government also reduced the price of petrol by Rs0.12 per litre. Consequently, the new petrol price has been set at Rs336.03 per litre.
The revised fuel prices will remain in effect from August 1 to August 3, according to the official notification.
The government said it approved the adjustment after reviewing international oil prices alongside domestic economic and fiscal conditions.
Although the reduction is modest, it offers limited relief to consumers facing persistent inflation and fluctuations in global crude oil markets.
Furthermore, the latest revision follows the government’s routine review of petroleum prices. Authorities determine fuel rates by considering international market trends, the rupee’s exchange rate and domestic taxation policies.
