A two-member bench led by Justice Hashim Kakar heard the case. During the hearing, Parvez Elahi’s counsel, Amir Saeed Raan, argued that the matter raised an important legal question.
However, Justice Kakar questioned the appeal’s relevance. He said the issue had already lost its practical significance and asked why the court should continue hearing it.
The defence counsel then informed the bench that the government had already lost its appeal against Parvez Elahi’s bail. Therefore, the earlier dispute over physical remand no longer carried the same legal importance.
Justice Kakar advised the petitioner to withdraw the appeal and seek relief from the appropriate legal forum if needed. Subsequently, Parvez Elahi’s legal team accepted the advice and withdrew the petition.
As a result, the Supreme Court closed the case and dismissed the appeal after the petitioner formally withdrew it.
