Consulate facilitated visit strengthens Pakistan-Indonesia tourism ties, highlighting halal travel growth and rising visitor exchange opportunities.
KARACHI: A Pakistani delegation facilitated by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi participated in the 12th Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2026, alongside a familiarization tour across Bali, Lombok, and Jakarta aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation included representatives from Eventica Travels and Holiday Express Travel, as well as travel influencer and food vlogger Zia Tabarak. The group engaged in Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions and participated in a 10-day promotional program titled “BROVENTURES: Explore Bali & Beyond.”
The initiative allowed Pakistani tourism stakeholders and content creators to experience Indonesia’s tourism offerings, including its cultural heritage, natural landscapes, culinary diversity, and hospitality services. The program also focused on expanding halal-friendly travel markets and increasing tourism flows from South Asia.
The 12th BBTF 2026 concluded at the Bali International Convention Centre, recording an estimated potential transaction value of around USD 400 million. The event brought together hundreds of buyers and sellers from dozens of countries, including Pakistan, reflecting strong global interest in Indonesia’s tourism sector.
Indonesian Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana emphasized that tourism growth must focus on quality rather than quantity, highlighting destination readiness, improved infrastructure, and enhanced visitor experience as key priorities.
Bali Governor I Wayan Koster stressed the importance of preserving cultural identity while strengthening global tourism confidence, noting Bali’s role as a gateway to Indonesia’s wider tourism network.
The Consulate General of Indonesia in Karachi said Pakistan represents a key priority market for tourism promotion due to its large population and growing demand for halal tourism. It noted that Pakistani arrivals to Indonesia reached 36,348 in 2025, reflecting significant growth in recent years.
The delegation also visited Lombok and Jakarta under the post-BBTF program, exploring opportunities in leisure tourism, halal travel, and business collaboration. The “Enjoy Jakarta” segment highlighted the capital’s offerings in MICE tourism, gastronomy, entertainment, and urban attractions.
Organizers announced that the 13th Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) will be held in June 2027 under the theme “Bali & Beyond: Regenerative Travel, Elevated,” aiming to further expand international tourism partnerships.
