Farewell luncheon in Karachi highlights efforts to strengthen trade, economic cooperation and people-to-people ties between the two countries
Pakistan-Indonesia Relations were celebrated at a farewell luncheon hosted in Karachi by Shamoon Zaki in honour of Dewanto Priyokusumo, who is returning to Indonesia after completing his diplomatic assignment in Pakistan.
Speaking at the event, Shamoon Zaki praised Dewanto Priyokusumo for his role in promoting friendship, economic cooperation and trade ties between Pakistan and Indonesia during his tenure. He said the Indonesian diplomat had made valuable efforts to deepen bilateral engagement and strengthen connections between the business communities of both countries.
Shamoon Zaki noted that Dewanto’s contribution to enhancing cooperation and encouraging commercial partnerships would be remembered with respect and appreciation by the business community and those involved in bilateral relations.
Addressing the gathering, Dewanto Priyokusumo described his experience in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi, as memorable and rewarding. He said he would always value the warmth, hospitality and friendship extended to him by the people of Pakistan, members of the business community and his colleagues.
The diplomat also expressed confidence that the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Indonesia would continue to expand, particularly in the areas of trade, investment and economic cooperation.

The farewell luncheon was attended by officials and staff of the Indonesian Consulate, along with prominent business leaders involved in trade between the two countries. Participants acknowledged Dewanto Priyokusumo’s diplomatic services and extended their best wishes for his future professional assignments.
The event highlighted the importance of sustained people-to-people engagement and commercial cooperation in strengthening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Indonesia.
