Pakistan Customs Celebrates Modernization on International Customs Day

Chairman FBR noted the positive feedback

from Karachi’s traders’ community

regarding the FCA System

Karachi: Pakistan Customs celebrated International Customs Day 2025 with a grand ceremony at the Customs House Karachi, highlighting achievements in modernization and efficiency.

Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Rashid Mahmood Langrial, emphasized the success of initiatives such as the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and Faceless Customs Assessment (FCA) System. These advancements have streamlined trade processes, enhanced transparency, expedited export clearance, and significantly increased revenue.

Enhancing Trade Efficiency

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman FBR noted the positive feedback from Karachi’s traders’ community regarding the FCA System. He underlined the importance of the World Customs Theme 2025, “Customs delivering on its commitment to efficiency, security, and prosperity”, as a guiding principle for Pakistan Customs to evolve into a modern and dynamic institution.

The event also included a flag-hoisting ceremony and a tribute to martyrs with wreath-laying and prayers at the Martyrs’ Monument.

Commitment to Economic Stability

In his remarks, Member Customs Operations (FBR), Junaid Jalil, reaffirmed Pakistan Customs’ commitment to combating smuggling, stabilizing the economy, and facilitating business activities. He praised Customs officials for their vital role in supporting the country’s economic framework and expressed confidence in their continued dedication.

Recognizing Excellence

Chairman FBR distributed certificates of appreciation to officers for their outstanding contributions. The event concluded with gratitude extended to the organizers and participants, including Consul Generals from Oman, Indonesia, Kuwait, and representatives from the Russian and UAE consulates.

Global Observance

International Customs Day is observed annually on January 26 worldwide. In Pakistan, celebrations were held in Customs Collectorates nationwide, with the Karachi event serving as the focal point.
