Consumers to receive Rs67 billion relief as quarterly adjustment reduces power tariffs from June to August 2026.
ISLAMABAD: Electricity consumers across Pakistan are set to receive relief after the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced a reduction of Rs1.99 per unit in electricity tariffs for a period of three months.
According to a notification issued by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority, the reduction has been approved under the quarterly adjustment for the period from January to March 2026.
The revised tariff will be applicable from June to August 2026 and will benefit consumers nationwide, including customers of K-Electric.
The notification stated that the tariff reduction is expected to provide a total relief of approximately Rs67.17 billion to electricity consumers during the three-month period.
Officials said the adjustment reflects quarterly revisions in power sector costs and will result in lower electricity bills for millions of residential, commercial, and industrial consumers.
The reduction comes as part of the regulatory mechanism through which electricity tariffs are periodically adjusted based on variations in fuel costs, capacity charges, and other power sector expenditures.
Consumers are expected to see the impact of the revised rates in their upcoming electricity bills issued between June and August 2026.
