National Savings Government Cuts Profit Rates on Selected Savings Schemes

National Savings has reduced profit rates on several savings schemes, lowering returns for investors across selected investment instruments.

Petroleum Levy Revenue Helps Keep Budget Deficit Within FY2025-26 Target

According to an official notification, the annual profit rate on the Bahbood Savings Certificate and the Pensioners Benefit Account has been reduced to 12.96 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Regular Income Certificate will now offer a monthly profit rate of 11.52 per cent. As a result, an investment of Rs100,000 will generate a monthly return of Rs960.

In addition, the Special Savings Certificate will provide a profit rate of 11.2 per cent for the first six months. It will then offer 12.6 per cent for the remaining six months of the investment period.

Furthermore, National Savings has revised the annual return on the Shuhada Family Welfare Account to 12.96 per cent, according to the latest notification.

The revised profit rates will apply to the selected savings instruments under the latest National Savings policy.
