RAWALPINDI, October 11, 2026: Pakistan posted an imposing 215-3 in 20 overs against Sri Lanka in the second T20 International on Sunday, driven by Maaz Sadaqat’s explosive 96 and captain Sahibzada Farhan’s rapid 73 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The hosts made full use of their batting opportunity, combining aggressive stroke play with strong partnerships to put Sri Lanka under pressure ahead of the chase.
Farhan and Sadaqat Lead Pakistan’s Charge
Pakistan’s openers provided a brisk start, adding 55 runs in 6.5 overs before Fakhar Zaman departed for 22 off 17 balls. Maheesh Theekshana claimed the wicket, with Kamindu Mendis taking the catch.
Farhan then joined Sadaqat and shifted the innings into a higher gear. The pair added 88 runs for the second wicket, taking Pakistan to 143-2 in 14.5 overs.
Farhan struck four fours and five sixes during his 44-ball innings before Theekshana caught him off Dasun Shanaka’s bowling.
The captain’s aggressive knock gave Pakistan a strong platform for a late-innings surge.
Sadaqat Misses Century by Four Runs
Sadaqat continued to attack after Farhan’s dismissal, striking six boundaries and seven sixes in a blistering 51-ball 96.
The left-handed batter looked on course for a maiden T20 international century but fell on the final delivery of the innings to Eshan Malinga, finishing just four runs short of the milestone.
Hasan Nawaz provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 19 off nine deliveries, including one four and one six.
His quick contribution helped Pakistan close on 215-3, leaving Sri Lanka with a challenging target.
Sri Lankan Bowlers Struggle to Contain Hosts
Sri Lanka managed three wickets but struggled to slow Pakistan’s scoring rate throughout the innings.
Malinga, Theekshana and Shanaka took one wicket each. However, Pakistan’s partnerships and power-hitting ensured the hosts maintained momentum and finished with a formidable total.
Sadaqat’s near-century and Farhan’s commanding innings stood out in a batting display that put Pakistan in a strong position in the second T20I.
