Lenny Kravitz has officially joined the Barbie universe as the second celebrity to receive Mattel’s Kenbassador honour.
The toy company has released a collectible Ken doll inspired by the Grammy-winning musician. The figure features Kravitz’s signature tattoos, jewellery and physique.
The doll wears a slinky tank top and is priced at $70. It is available through major retailers.
Ken Celebrates 65 Years
The release marks Ken’s 65th anniversary. Mattel introduced Ken in 1961 as Barbie’s longtime companion.
Over the decades, Ken has become a popular figure among Barbie collectors. Mattel has regularly released special-edition versions of the character.

Kravitz is the second celebrity to receive the Kenbassador honour. Basketball star LeBron James became the first celebrity Kenbassador when Mattel released his collectible doll in 2025.
Kravitz’s Music and Acting Career
Kravitz began his recording career with his 1989 debut album, Let Love Rule. He later developed a successful acting career.
His film credits include appearances in The Hunger Games franchise. His music, fashion and cultural influence have also helped establish his distinctive public image.
Mattel said Kravitz’s music, personal style and influence on popular culture contributed to the decision to honour him.
Nathan Baynard, Vice President and Head of Barbie at Mattel, said the company wanted to recognise Kravitz’s lasting impact on style and culture.
Kravitz also described the honour as surreal. He said he could not have imagined receiving such recognition while growing up.
The new Lenny Kravitz Ken doll has already attracted attention from Barbie collectors on social media. It is now available through major retailers.
