Karachi: Chairman Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed, visited KDLB and KPT Hospital to review healthcare services and infrastructure in the port area.
He was accompanied by Dr. Danish Aman and the chief medical officers of both institutions during the visit.
During the visit, the chairman interacted with hospital staff and conducted a detailed assessment of available medical facilities.
He also visited the paediatric ward, where he met children receiving treatment, and reviewed patient care services.
Officials said discussions were held regarding the potential expansion of KPT Hospital to enhance healthcare delivery in the Keamari area.
The proposed expansion is expected to improve access to medical services for local residents and strengthen the overall healthcare infrastructure in the port vicinity.
The visit reflects KPT’s continued focus on improving welfare facilities, particularly in healthcare, for communities associated with the port.
Authorities emphasised that strengthening medical services remains a key priority to meet the growing needs of the population in the area.
