Karachi: The 19th Karachi International Book Fair (KIBF), held at the Expo Center, has been a major success, drawing huge crowds and participation from over 90 private schools on its third day. With over 300,000 citizens in attendance, the fair is proving to be an excellent platform for book lovers, students, and cultural enthusiasts.

Governor Tessori Emphasizes Importance of Reading
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori visited the event, highlighting the transformative power of books in society. He emphasized that reading can bring about positive change and announced plans to establish a book cell at the Governor House to further promote reading culture. Governor Tessori also expressed his intention to expand the book fair across Pakistan, stating, “I will talk to the organizers to spread the book fair across the country.”

Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Commends Book Fair’s Impact
Munam Zafar, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, described the KIBF as a breath of fresh air in the city. He praised the fair for its long-standing efforts to encourage the younger generation to connect with books, especially in an era dominated by technology. Zafar also shared his childhood experiences of visiting libraries and reading famous authors such as Ashfaq Ahmed.

Dr. Fawad Ahmed Celebrates Karachi as Hub of Literature
Dr. Fawad Ahmed, Chairman of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, also attended the fair and expressed his passion for history and biography books. A regular visitor to the KIBF, Dr. Ahmed acknowledged the fair’s role in positioning Karachi as a major hub of literature and knowledge.

Book Launches at KIBF 2024
The event also featured the launch of ‘Ishq Aqeedah,’ a collection of hamd and naat by senior journalist and poet A.H. Khanzada. This marks the third book launch in the first three days of the fair, adding to the event’s dynamic offerings.

The 19th Karachi International Book Fair will continue until December 16, 2024, offering more opportunities for attendees to explore a wide variety of books across genres, participate in cultural activities, and engage with prominent literary figures.
