Karachi University Secures Top Accreditation Rankings for Four Departments

Karachi: The University of Karachi has reached a major milestone in higher education, with four of its departments receiving top rankings and commendations from the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC). The recognition highlights the university’s continued commitment to academic and research excellence.

The honored departments include Agriculture and Agribusiness Management, Food Science and Technology, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Poultry Science. The accreditation reflects KU’s alignment with national standards and its strong focus on quality education.

The NAEAC, a regulatory body under the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, oversees the accreditation process for agriculture-related disciplines. It ensures quality benchmarks, policy development, and ongoing performance evaluations for institutions across the country.

VC Applauds Collaborative Efforts Behind Success

KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi stated that the achievement is a result of collective efforts by faculty and administration. He praised the strategic leadership that has propelled KU towards greater global recognition.

Dr Iraqi also lauded the university’s Quality Enhancement Cell for guiding departments through the accreditation process with comprehensive self-assessment reports, efficient data handling, and consistent follow-ups.

PhD, MPhil, and MS Degrees Awarded at ASRB Meeting

In a recent meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB), the University of Karachi awarded two PhD, 17 MPhil, and one M.S. Course Work (30 Cr. Hr.) degrees.

PhD degrees were conferred upon T. Owais Pasha (Islamic Learning) and Aisha Rais Ahmed (Psychology).

The 17 MPhil degrees were awarded to Shahzad Ali (Applied Economics – AERC), Allah Bux (Arabic), Zufishan Mustafa (Biochemistry), Abdul Aziz (Botany – ISHU), Hafsa Khalid (Chemistry), Summaiya Hameed (Chemistry – HEJ), Waqas Ali Akbar (Clinical Psychology), Rizwana (Islamic Learning), Warisha Faridi (Pharmacognosy), Qazi Emad Uddin, Sanober Naqvi (Psychology), Ghulam Muntaqa, Muhammad Idrees, Muhammad Mubashir, Muhammad Zeeshan Rasheed, Qurratul Ain (Quran and Sunnah), and Syeda Huma Tahir (Teacher Education).

Additionally, the M.S. Course Work degree was awarded to Navera Abrar in Teacher Education.
