Experience Turkey Through Resul Celik’s Lens in Karachi

Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi inaugurated a photography exhibition featuring the works of renowned Turkish photographer Resul Celik at the Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery. The event was formally opened by the Consul General of Turkey, Cemal Sangu, alongside Arts Council Secretary Ejaz Ahmed Farooqi. Resul Celik himself was present at the ceremony.

The exhibition attracted a distinguished gathering, including the Consul General of Sri Lanka, Jagath Abeywarna, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, Principal of the Art School Shahid Rasam, Shakeel Khan, Javed Jan, Member of the National Assembly Ramesh Kumar, and Fatima Hassan, along with prominent figures from the art and culture community.

Capturing Turkey’s Rich Culture and Heritage

Resul Celik presented 40 stunning photographs that beautifully captured the cultural and natural beauty of Turkey. His collection included breathtaking landscapes, portraits, and historical landmarks from various Turkish cities. A highlight of the exhibition was an image of the tomb of the legendary Turkish warrior, Ertugrul Ghazi.

Speaking at the event, Consul General Cemal Sangu commended the exhibition, noting that the photographs offered an authentic glimpse into Turkey’s diverse landscapes, from towering mountains and serene rivers to iconic minarets. He also expressed gratitude to Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah for organizing the event.

Strengthening Cultural Ties Through Art

Principal of the Art School, Shahid Rasam, praised the exhibition for fostering cultural ties between Turkey and Pakistan. Member of the National Assembly Ramesh Kumar lauded Resul Celik’s ability to showcase Turkey’s beauty globally, emphasizing that words alone could not do justice to his artistic vision.

Resul Celik expressed his gratitude for the warm reception in Pakistan, highlighting his passion for sharing Turkey’s cultural essence through photography. His work has been exhibited internationally in major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, New York, Washington, Paris, and Zurich. Additionally, he has authored the book 81 IL TÜRKIYE GIZEM DOLU ANADOLU / TURKEY WITH 81 PROVINCES MYSTERIOUS ANATOLIA.

Exhibition Details

The exhibition will be open to the public from February 3 to February 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery, Second Floor, Ahmed Shah Building, Arts Council Karachi.
