Defamation Suit Court Seeks Arguments on PTI Founder’s Jail Meeting Request

A sessions court on Saturday sought arguments on a request by the PTI founder’s legal team for permission to meet him in jail during proceedings in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s defamation suit.

During the hearing, an associate lawyer representing the PTI founder informed the court that the senior counsel was appearing before a court in Karachi. He requested the court to take up the application seeking permission for a jail meeting.

The court accepted the request. It directed both parties to present their arguments on the miscellaneous application on July 22.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif filed the defamation suit against the PTI founder. The case remains pending before the sessions court.
