BU Karachi Celebrates 20th Convocation with Record Graduates
A total of 1,791 degrees, including 11 PhDs, were
awarded, 46 Gold Medals and 42 Silver Medals
were presented to high-achieving students

Karachi: Bahria University Karachi Campus, in collaboration with the Pakistan Navy School of Logistics, hosted its 20th Convocation at the Convention Hall, Maritime Museum. The ceremony, conducted in two sessions, marked a significant milestone for both the institution and its graduates.
Chief Guests and Degree Awarding
Engr. Waseem Nazir, Chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council, and Mr. Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Minister for School Education, College Education, and Mines & Mineral Department, Sindh, graced the event as Chief Guests. They conferred degrees upon graduates of the PhD, Postgraduate, and Undergraduate Programs.
Rector’s Address and University Legacy
In his welcome address, Vice Admiral (R) Asif Khaliq HI (M), Rector of Bahria University, expressed gratitude to the Chief Guests. He praised the achievements of the graduates and encouraged them to shape a bright future. He also highlighted Bahria University’s legacy of academic excellence and its proactive approach to adapting to global trends, such as artificial intelligence (AI).
Words of Wisdom for Graduates
Engr. Waseem Nazir addressed the graduates, stating, “You are the torchbearers of a brighter future, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to contribute to Pakistan’s progress.”
Mr. Syed Sardar Ali Shah emphasized perseverance and lifelong learning. He encouraged graduates by saying, “Work hard, be kind, and exciting opportunities will follow. Remember, every ending is a new beginning.”
Degrees Awarded and Medalists
A total of 1,791 degrees were awarded, including 11 PhDs, across various disciplines such as Management, Business, Humanities, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, and Media Studies.
Recognition of Excellence
Forty-six Gold Medals and 42 Silver Medals were awarded to top-achieving students. The Chief Guests commended the graduates for their dedication and encouraged them to contribute positively to society and the nation.
