Academic Cooperation SMIU and AIOU sign MoU to expand education and research collaboration

Academic Cooperation between Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) and Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has received a boost after the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate across various academic fields.

The agreement was signed during a visit by SMIU Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai (S.I.) to Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad. The ceremony brought together senior officials from both universities.

Universities expand academic partnership

AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood and Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in education and research. It also seeks to encourage initiatives that contribute to national harmony and cultural advancement.

Both universities will explore opportunities for greater academic interaction and collaboration. The partnership is expected to create a platform for sharing knowledge and supporting joint initiatives in areas of mutual interest.

Focus on research and national harmony

The agreement reflects the universities’ shared commitment to strengthening higher education and research in Pakistan.

In addition, SMIU and AIOU aim to use their academic cooperation to promote national unity and cultural understanding. Their collaboration will bring together the institutions’ academic expertise and resources to support broader educational development.

Senior university officials attended the signing ceremony and discussed the importance of strengthening institutional ties between the two prominent national universities.
