Balochistan saw another intelligence-based security operation as security forces killed two militants and injured three others during an exchange of fire, according to security sources.
The operation took place in the Killi Zaik area after intelligence indicated the presence of terrorists between Killi Zaik and Kaghli, around 12 kilometres north of Basima Camp.
Security forces moved into the area after receiving information about the militants’ presence. During the operation, the forces engaged the group, triggering an exchange of fire.
The clash left two militants dead and three others injured, security sources said.
Weapons and explosives recovered
Security sources identified one of the slain militants as Mushtaq Ahmed, alias Kohiyar. Authorities had not immediately identified the second militant.
Following the operation, security forces recovered weapons, ammunition and other material from the militants.
The recovered items included magazines, hand grenades and equipment used to manufacture improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Security officials said the recovery showed that the militants possessed equipment that could support terrorist activities.
