Anosh Ahmed Installs Two Water Pumps in Karachi to Honor Late Father’s Memory

Anosh Ahmed Installs Two Water Pumps in Karachi to Honor Late Father’s Memory

Karachi: In a heartfelt act of service, Anosh Foundation has installed two submersible water pumps in water-scarce neighborhoods of Karachi, dedicated to the Eesal-e-Sawab of the late Nadeem Muhammad Ahmed, father of businessman and philanthropist Anosh Ahmed.

Valued at PKR 650,000, the initiative is expected to benefit more than 200 residents daily, easing the impact of chronic water shortages in two underserved localities — North Karachi’s Sector 11-H and Orangi Town’s Al-Madina Colony.

Driven by the foundation’s belief in serving all communities equally, one of the two sites was deliberately chosen to assist a Christian neighborhood, underscoring a message of inclusivity and human dignity beyond religious or social divides.

Site 1: Sector 11-H, North Karachi

Located near Saint Joseph Church, this area had suffered over 15 years of water scarcity due to declining groundwater levels. To ensure durability, engineers drilled a 350-foot, 8-inch bore and fitted a high-capacity submersible pump built for continuous operation.
The setup also includes a 1,000-liter storage tank, two water faucets, and professional plumbing to ensure safe and hygienic collection.
The site was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Warrior Wilson Gorey during a modest ceremony organized by Anosh Foundation, where prayers were offered for Anosh Ahmed and his late father. Local residents expressed gratitude, calling the project a “lifeline” for their community.

Site 2: Al-Madina Colony, Orangi Town

In Al-Madina Colony, where municipal water arrives just once a month for a few hours, residents often spend up to PKR 1,500 monthly buying water. The new submersible pump now allows daily access, reducing costs and improving health and household stability.

Sustainable Design and Monitoring

Both installations were engineered for longevity and ease of maintenance, prioritizing larger bore diameters to allow for future repairs and minimize system failure. The Foundation plans to monitor water use and provide basic upkeep training to ensure the systems remain reliable year-round.

Anosh Ahmed is a Pakistan-born, U.S.-based businessman and philanthropist active across Pakistan, the UAE, and the United States. Through Anosh Foundation and Anosh Inc. Foundation, he supports charitable programs including free ration and meal distribution, the establishment of a free dispensary, and the installation of submersible summer pumps in water-stressed communities. His humanitarian outreach also spans international relief work, including food aid in Dubai and disaster support in the U.S. following Hurricane Beryl.

The Karachi water pump project reflects Anosh Ahmed’s ongoing mission to create sustainable, community-first solutions that address essential needs and uphold human dignity.
