Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Visits Larkana to Strengthen Trade Relations

Larkana: Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner S.M. Mahbubul Alam recently visited Larkana and met with business leaders and office bearers of the Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI). During his visit, Deputy High Commissioner Alam was welcomed by the LCCI President, Senior Vice President, Vice Presidents, Secretary, and other key members.

Exploring Trade Opportunities

In his address, Deputy High Commissioner Alam emphasized the significant trade opportunities between Bangladesh and Pakistan. He highlighted the goal of achieving a bilateral trade volume of $1 billion and invited Larkana’s business community to explore new avenues for export and import. Alam also encouraged Pakistani entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh, outlining the country’s foreign investment-friendly policies and plans to establish 100 special economic zones across the nation.

Discussion on Trade and Business Relations

The meeting included discussions on enhancing trade relations, including the possibility of direct flights and shipping routes, easing visa regulations, and exchanging business delegations between the two countries. The Larkana Chamber of Commerce and local business leaders expressed a strong interest in expanding trade and business relations with Bangladesh.

Strengthening Economic Ties

Deputy High Commissioner Alam invited Pakistani business delegations to visit Bangladesh and stressed the importance of increased interaction between the Chambers of Commerce and business communities of both nations. He also highlighted the need for more people-to-people contacts to foster better economic and trade relationships.

Commitment to Bilateral Cooperation

Both the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Karachi and the Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industries reaffirmed their commitment to supporting and promoting trade and economic ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
