Advisor to the Chairman of the Senate, Misbah Khar, attended the inaugural ceremony of the board of PCPC Inc., a registered not-for-profit organisation based in Ontario, as chief guest during her official visit to Canada.
The event brought together members of the Pakistani diaspora, professionals, community leaders and newcomers from across Canada to discuss community development and opportunities for Pakistani professionals.
Pakistani diaspora recognised for national contribution
Addressing the gathering, Misbah Khar praised the Pakistani diaspora for its contribution to Pakistan’s development, particularly through remittances.
“The Pakistani diaspora in Canada is an asset to Pakistan. Your immense contribution to Pakistan’s economy through remittances is deeply valued and plays a crucial role in our national progress,” she said.

Khar added that Pakistan was proud of the community’s achievements and success in Canada.
She also highlighted the growing political participation and integration of Canadians of Pakistani origin. According to her remarks, six parliamentarians of Pakistani origin were serving in the Canadian Parliament, reflecting the community’s professional achievements and growing presence in public life.
PCPC Inc. aims to support Pakistani professionals
Khar appreciated PCPC Inc.’s mission to empower Pakistani professionals, particularly newcomers, through education, mentorship, leadership development and career support.
She said initiatives that connect skilled professionals with meaningful opportunities could help newcomers establish themselves and contribute to their communities.
The organisation seeks to bridge the gap between professional talent and career opportunities while supporting the development of Pakistani professionals in Canada.
Pledge of support for overseas Pakistanis
Reaffirming her commitment to the overseas Pakistani community, Khar said she was willing to listen to their concerns and support them in every possible way.
“My support will always be there for our people. I am here to listen to your concerns and I am willing to support you in every possible way. You have made both Pakistan and Canada proud,” she said.
The ceremony concluded with participants expressing their resolve to strengthen ties between Pakistan and its diaspora in Canada and to promote further collaboration and professional development.
